The Importance of Gas Refilling

Gas bottles are used all around the world, serving an array of purposes, from being used as a mains gas supply for the kitchen and the water boiler, to using gas bottles full of helium at a children’s party to fill up some balloons.

However, a lot of these types of bottles are thrown away after their use, which is bad when you think of it on an environmental level; metallic bottles on the landscape don’t break down easily, so it is important to know where to use your gas bottles to get the most out of them.

As such, it is important to know why refilling your gas bottles is a good thing to do and why you should maintain it in the future.

It’s Better for the Environment

One of the most important things that people all around the UK, and even the world, are conscious about is the state of the environment. Climate change and global warming are the biggest indications that we have of our planet changing in a bad way due to the impact of the humans on Earth.

As such, for people that use gas bottles on a regular basis, refilling them from a registered gas supplier, such as Adams Gas, for example, is a quick, and environmentally friendly alternative to purchasing another gas bottle and leaving your old gas bottle lying around.

It’s A Cheaper Alternative Too!

We’ve all been there; you’ve used nearly all your gas within the bottle and it’s not the time to get a new one. So, what’s the best plan of attack? Well, normally, it would be to use all the gas within the bottle, then take it to a gas supplier, then it would be to either swap your empty bottle with an exchange bottle, drop your empty bottle off and get a slight refund, or fill up your empty bottle from the pump.

If you continually swap your empty bottles for full ones, it can cause a big dent in your wallet. As such, the most efficient and cost effective way of getting full gas bottles is to refill it at your gas supplier.

At Adams Gas, we can supply Calor gas bottles that are refillable, which can cost a lot less than buying an entirely new bottle. According to WhatGas, LPG gas costs just under 60 pence per litre, meaning that a 10 litre LPG bottle will cost £6 to refill, rather than costing upwards of £25 for a brand new bottle.

It’s Convenient When You’re on the Move

This is a particularly good benefit for having refillable gas canisters and bottles; if you like to travel, it can be difficult to carry around non-refillable gas bottles with you. For example, if you are going on a camping trip and you need to do a lot of cooking, you will need a few gas bottles to make sure that you have enough. These can add a lot of weight, which can cost more in fuel in the long run.

This also applies if you like to go on canal boats; a lot more people are venturing to this type of lifestyle, as it is relatively relaxing, and you get to be away from the hustle and bustle of city life. However, you need to make sure that you aren’t weighing down the boat too much, as it can be quite difficult to get around.

As such, having a refillable gas canister with you gives you the opportunity where, if you need to refill your canister, you can visit an LPG supplier and then get them to fill it up quickly and efficiently. In turn, this will save you money when it comes to filling up the gas canister, as well as saving you fuel when you are travelling around the country.

We specialise in providing gas canisters, as well as offering a refillable option for some of our gas canisters. Note that, for new refillable gas canisters, you will have to pay a deposit which is known as a Refill Agreement Charge which varies depending on the size and type of gas canister.
